Beer brewed right here at the Commercial Hotel Morpeth.
Morpeth Brewery has been brewing at the Commercial Hotel since 2012, creating small-batch, hand-crafted beers right in the heart of historic Morpeth.
Our beers are made the traditional way, using just malt, hops, yeast and water — with no additives or preservatives. We don’t filter or pasteurise our beers, and they’re naturally carbonated rather than artificially gassed. The result is a fresh, living beer with plenty of character.
There’s always something interesting happening on the taps. You’ll always find at least 4 beers on tap. From our staples: Close Call Pale Ale, Trades Winds IPA, our much-loved Black Tractor Dark Ale, Big Hitter Special Bitter, alongside a rotating selection of IPAs and seasonal brews. And the best part? The brewery is right here in the pub. Peer through the glass and you might catch our brewer, Dave Allen, at work — brewing, tinkering, tasting and doing what he does best.
So pull up a chair, order a tasting paddle or settle in with a pint and enjoy a beer that has travelled approximately 30 metres from brewery to bar! We have a range of take-away options for you as well, from Growlers, to Squealers, to cans, to t-shirts (all coming soon!).
